If you sign up to StayPrivate.org you need to give us your name, your postal address, your email address and some other personal information (this varies depending on the opt-out services you wish to register with). Without this information, we cannot subscribe you to the opt-out services.

What do you do with this information?

When you sign up, we send the appropriate details to each of the opt-out services you have asked us to register you with. The website does this automatically.

How long do you keep this information?

This depends on what options you selected when you signed up.

If you didn't sign up for an account, we will keep your data until we have submitted it to the opt-out services. To ensure your submission has been processed correctly we may keep your details for up-to 24 hours. After this point the data is destroyed.

If you signed up for an account but told us you didn't want us to store your data, we will keep it until we have submitted it to the opt-out services. To ensure your submission has been processed correctly, we may keep your details for up-to 24 hours. After this, we will delete everything except your name, email address and the dates on which we submitted you to each opt-out service (we need this information to manage your account) at any time.

If you signed up for an account and told us to store your data, we will keep it until you tell us to destroy it. You can tell us to destroy it by logging into your account and pressing the 'Delete Data' or 'Close Account' buttons.

How is the information stored?

The information is encrypted and stored in our database.

What about visitor statistics?

When you visit StayPrivate.org, we log your IP address and some browser information. We use this to monitor visitor levels and help us to improve the website.
